[ stepping back into the room means stepping back into kate's space. she'd been close enough to the balcony that benedict could walk right into her if he wished. having him this close, sleepy as she still is, kate seems to sway in her spot and nearly tip on over into him. like she'd been pulled into his orbit somehow. fortunately (?) she remains where she is, swaying back upright and lifting a hand to try and rub the sleep out of her eyes. ]
